Effective Business Writing

Course Code: TNET-BBW

Duration: 2 days

Course Description:

Business communication is the transmission of ideas, important information, directions or instructions through the different channels that are in a corporate setting. This can be through written or oral means (depending on the situation), and each type of communication
has its pros and cons.

Writing has advantages and disadvantages when you compare it to speaking scenarios - face-to-face situations or telephone conversations. Written documents can be planned, analyzed, reviewed and edited before you send them out, as opposed to oral conversations.
However, you have to consider that all written communication is one-dimensional - it lacks
the other important elements of communication, such as verbal tone and inflection, or body language and facial expressions. It is all about your word choices, the conciseness of your phrasing, as well as the overall organization of your ideas.

Getting the right message across (with the specific intention you have in mind) is imperative
in any communication scenario. Since business today is information-driven (and most of this information is written), this seminar will focus mainly on the various aspects that will help you write effectively to achieve excellent business results.
