Configuring Aruba OS CX  Rev. 19.21

Course Code: 1123901

Duration: 4 Days

Prerequisites:

Highly recommended prerequisites are the Aruba Certified Switching Professional (ACSP) certification or professional level networking experience in routing and switching and campus design.

Course Description:

The Aruba OS CX course provides students with information on Aruba OS CX routing and switching, Network Analytic Engine (NAE), and the virtualization of the distribution layer and core layer of a campus network. Students will use CLI, WebUI and REST API to understand how to incorporate ArubaOS-CX technologies into their network. This course teaches students how to use python scripting to help automate their daily network routine and how to use the built-in NAE swagger to monitor and help troubleshoot their campus network. Students will learn how to leverage the high availability (resiliency, performance, scalability, and flexibility) of Aruba OS CX 8400/8320 switches as well as the design and placement of 8400/8320 switches.

Course Objectives:

•    Describe the ArubaOS-CX switches' hardware architecture
•    Describe the ArubaOS-CX software architecture and explain key distinguishing points
•    List device management interfaces and configuration checkpoints
•    Understand System Management and benefits of using Event logs and Accounting logs
•    Understand configuration file management and benefits of Checkpoint creation and rollback
•    Be familiar with configuration of Layer 2 switching technologies & features
•    Be familiar with VLAN management, Layer 2 switching ports, Link-Aggregation (LAG/LACP)
•    Understand Spanning Tree Protocols (RPVST and MSTP)
•    Be familiar with the different types of L3 interfaces (ROP/SVI/Routed LAG/Loopback/GRE Tunnel)
•    Understand and configure VRF-Lite
•    Understand how Aruba’s VSX technology helps you simplify your network architecture, operations, and management while providing resiliency and scalability
•    Understand how VSX meets high Availability needs of the customers
•    Configure OSFP in single and multi-area designs, optimize, and tune OSPF
•    Control route redistribution and LSA filtering based on the needs of the scenario
•    Configure internal and external BGP
•    Influence BGP route selection using route maps
•    Explain how IGMP can be used to discover multicast groups
•    Describe how IGMP snooping can be used to filter multicast traffic at Layer 2
•    Explain how to implement PIM-SM (RP and BSR) to route multicast traffic
•    Configure ACLs to filter Ethernet and IP traffic, based on the scenario needs
•    Configure classifier-based policies to implement class-based traffic mirroring, rate limiting, and traffic policing
•    Determine how an ArubaOS-CX switch will prioritize traffic based on incoming priority value and QoS trust settings

•     Use classifier-based policies to assign traffic a new priority based on customer requirements
•    Customize CoS maps, DSCP maps, and queue profiles
•    Understand how scheduling mechanisms differ and select an appropriate scheduling profile
•    Send REST requests to ArubaOS-CX REST API
•    Use the ArubaOS-CX API Reference Interface to explore the API
•    Use Ansible to automate switch configuration, using the REST API
•    Use Python scripts to issue requests to the ArubaOS-CX REST API and to handle the responses
•    Explain how the ArubaOS-CX NAE helps you to monitor and troubleshoot
•    Analyze NAE data in the Web UI
•    Install scripts from ASE and create agents based on the scripts
•    Understand how to use Aruba NetEdit to orchestrate multiple switch configurations with intelligent capabilities including search, edit, validation (including conformance checking), deployment and audit.

Intended Audience:
