Prerequisite:
A basic understanding on the following topics is recommended:
• A foundational knowledge of computer networking is assumed, such as a vendor-based “Introduction to networking”, with specific familiarity with various conceptual models of networking (OSI, Internet, etc.) and the technologies required (formally validated by the CompTIA Network+™ certification examination)
• Familiarity with all the knowledge domains of this certification
• Routing and Switching principles
• Cloud Services principles
Course Description:
MEF-NF is a three-day course will provide you with an overview of MEF’s Software-Driven Network Vision and the important technologies that contribute towards this vision. It also assists in preparing for the MEF Network Foundations Professional Certification Exam (MEF-NF) that validates concept-level understanding of key Network terms, processes, and elements.
Course Objective:
• Define and explain the characteristics and key benefits of an SDN solution
• Compare the different characteristics of an SDN solution to those of its network predecessor
• Understand how the various SDN technologies relate to each other and the major challenges presented by the move to an SDN networks
• Define and explain the characteristics and key benefits of an NFV solution
• Compare the different characteristics of an NFV solution to those of its network predecessor
• Understand how the various NFV technologies relate to each other and the major challenges presented by the move to an NFV networks
• Define and explain the key characteristics and key benefits of an LSO solution
• Compare the different characteristics of an LSO solution to those of its network predecessor
• Understand how the various LSO technologies relate to each other and the major challenges presented by the move to an NFV networks
• Define and explain the characteristics and key benefits of an Carrier-based Connectivity Services
• Explain the roles of the organizations/actors involved in buying and selling carrier-based connectivity services
• Understand the major challenges presented in deploying a carrier-based connectivity solution and how a solution would be implemented to leverage its benefits
• Define and explain the characteristics and key benefits of the Network Foundations connectivity/functional service
• Explain the predecessors to the Network Foundations as well as explain the major challenges in deploying the Network Foundations connectivity/functional service
