Implementing VMware vSphere on Data ONTAP
Course code: IMPVMVS
Duration: 3 Days
Prerequisites:
• ONTAP Cluster Administration (ONTAP 9.6) (ONTAP9ADM)
• ONTAP Data Protection Administration (ONTAP 9.6) (DATAPROT9)
• Data ONTAP SAN Implementation (SANIMP)
• VMware vSphere: Install, Configure, Manage (Version 5.1) (VICM)
Course Description:
Implementing Microsoft Hyper-V on Data ONTAP (IMPMSHV) is a 2 day course where you will learn how to design and implement virtualization solutions on NetApp® storage systems using Microsoft Hyper-V. You will also discover how to deploy the Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 virtual infrastructure on Data ONTAP storage.
Course Objectives:
• Describe the VMware vSphere 6.0 virtualization solution
• Articulate the NetApp value proposition for integrating clustered Data ONTAP with vSphere 6.0
• Configure physical and virtual infrastructures
• Use the clustered Data ONTAP operating system to provision virtual infrastructure
• Create, migrate, and clone virtual machines
• Describe the Virtual Volumes datastore-management process
• Protect virtual infrastructure
• Monitor and optimize virtual infrastructure
• Describe best practice for connectivity, provisioning, data layout, and multipathing
• Describe how deduplication, compression, and thin provisioning provide storage savings in a virtual environment
Intended Audience:
NetApp employees, channel partners, and customers
